About the Author

Hey y’all! My name is Sydni Austin and I am I the writer of The Data Blurb.

Native to the American Midwest but a true southerner at heart, you will find me catching the sunset by Lake Pontchartrain when I need inspiration. I have my bachelors of science in Physics from The University of New Orleans, and I started my masters in Physics there in 2020 that I’m still pursuing.

In my early educational background I collaborated on college research projects using MATLAB and Python to analyze acoustic data in the Gulf of Mexico. Also, before graduating I worked as a teacher’s assistant for the university Physics Department for several years, covering introductory college physics and labs. Despite my passion for physics and teaching, I wanted more opportunities to explore possible careers.
After graduating I worked in customer service while doing contract work as a data analyst, developing a sense for database storage methods, Python programming for ETL operations, and business intelligence (BI) visualizations/dashboards.

Lately I am pursuing a career change from being a scientist with a data oriented mind to a cloud software engineer/data scientist. I currently have 7 months experience as an Analytics Engineer on the Microsoft Azure platform.

Lets grow together!
